I am a practicing artist currently studying an MA in photography at the Royal College of Art. I have exhibited both nationally and internationally, including London, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Spain, Germany and Australia. My work has continually progressed, exploring the aesthetic and theoretical possibilities of the photographic medium. I encompass analogue and digital photography, video, super 8 film, and use of projections. I investigate the cross fertilisation of ideas, finding new methods of studying still and time based imagery.

I am interested in exploring generally accepted narratives from storytelling and the mass media, integrating fact and myth. I find new ways of re narrating stories, examining composition and layers. I am naturally curious and work as an investigator, utilising people and objects in my environment. I am interested in how people narrate their experiences and how this can be explored within a universal construct.

My recent work investigates the validity of facial expressions and emotions within documentary and portraiture. The piece is a dual screen video piece using actors to recreate repeated facial expressions. The piece examines ideas of social performance and the awareness of the lens. The split screen display creates a non- verbal dialogue between the subjects.
