Throughout my practise I explore the construction of femininity in visual language, body language and the objectification of women in visual culture. I also explore the time frame of adolescence as the formative years of ones life.

I am currently creating a study of a Japanese Boarding school in England, where the students are the daughters and sons of Japanese businessmen and women working in London. The classes are taught in Japanese and the rules abide by Japanese culture. It is my first interaction with adolescence in another culture, and the vocal language barrier means that I notice the gender divided body language more. This is an on going study.

I am also working with my sister and cousins in a series of portraiture. They are 12 and 13 years old. The series works with the idea of the photograph as an object and the objectification of the girls during their formative years.
